The last fifth coin from the first cycle "Famous means of transport", which is popular among collectors, has again a face value of CZK 500. The series commemorates famous means of transport. The coin with the year 2025 is minted with the motif of the L-39 Albatros aircraft. A special feature is the optical transparency element with bonus.

In 2025, the Czech National Bank presents the fifth issue of coins with a face value of CZK 500, the famous means of transport.
The 2025 coin is dedicated to the Aero L-39 Albatros aircraft.
The L-39 Albatros is the successor of the successful L-29 Dolphin. It first flew on 4 November 1968 and became the most widely used aircraft of its type worldwide. It has been selected by more than 40 military operators in a wide variety of climatic conditions. Production of the Albatros ended in 1995, with nearly 3,000 units produced. Hundreds of them are still flying in military and civilian service.
It contains a unique optical transparency element that permeates the entire thickness of the coin and is thus visible from both sides. This feature takes the form of an aerial device known as an artificial horizon.
The great peculiarity of this coin is that if you shine a laser pointer through this element, it will project the silhouettes of two Albatrosses on the wall.
The author of the commemorative coin is the academic sculptor Zbyněk Fojtů.
Each coin is accompanied by a catalogue card with a description of the coin and its plastic representation. The package also includes a gift case.
