The bicrown is minted from an alloy containing 925 parts silver and 75 parts copper and is issued in two versions, the standard STANDARD and the top PROOF, which differ in surface finish and edge design.

In the PROOF quality coins, the field of the coin is highly polished and the relief is matt, the edge is smooth with the frieze "CZECH NATIONAL BANK * Ag 0.925 * 13 g *".

On the obverse side of the bicentenary is a panorama of Prague with a silhouette of Hradčany with the text "MÁ VLAST". The description around the perimeter of the coin includes the text "CZECH REPUBLIC" and the denomination with the abbreviation of the monetary unit "200 CZK". The Czech Mint mark consisting of the letters 'Č' and 'M' is placed to the left of the text 'MÁ VLAST'.

On the reverse side of the bicentenary is a portrait of Bedřich Smetana. In the description at the right and upper edge of the coin there are the texts "BEDŘICH SMETANA", "1824 - 2024" and the initial of the author Jiří Hanuš, DiS., which is formed by the letter "H" in a frame.

Bedřich Smetana is rightly regarded as the founder of modern Czech national music.

His work, which was in the spirit of neo-Romanticism and late national revival, sought to create a distinctive Czech musical style.

The focus of his work became his operas, through which he was best able to represent the newly forming Czech culture.

Each of the eight operas he composed on themes from national history, mythology and contemporary life was distinctive - comic, tragic, celebratory and romantic.

Among his very popular works is the cycle of symphonic poems "My Country", which is full of triumph but also melancholy.

This culminating work was written when he was already quite deaf.

The PROOF coin is stored in an etui. Each coin is accompanied by a brown catalogue card with a description of the coin and its plastic representation.
